COMPUTER INTERPRETATION OF REMOTE SENSING AND MAPPING OF GEOLOGY MATERIALS

Abstract

This course presents satellite data, software, thematic processing of satellite images, the application of modern GIS technology to solve theoretical and practical problems of geology. Particular attention is paid to lineament analysis, which allows detecting the earth's crust tectonic faults hidden under the cover of Quaternary sediments. Lineament analysis is applied at all stages of the geological, geotechnical, hydrogeological and hydraulic studies.Practical lessons are devoted to teaching students self-selection of remote sensing data for GIS-project, computer decoding satellite images in the manual and automatic modes, as well as analyzing the results of interpretation on the computer using GIS technologies
